Abstract Submission Guidelines

Call for Abstracts

The 14th European Congress for Reproductive Immunology welcomes the submission of abstracts of original contribution to the field.
All abstracts submitted will go through a blind, peer-review process carried out by an international review panel. Each abstract will be reviewed by at least two reviewers. All accepted abstracts will appear in a Special Issue of the Journal of Reproductive Immunology.
You will receive a confirmation email upon submitting your abstract. Please contact the Secretariat if you have not received this confirmation email.

Abstract Categories

Abstract authors should select the abstract category which best fits their abstract. The Scientific Committee reserves the right to change the abstract category.

The categories have been divided as follows:

  • Gamete antigenicity
  • Pre-implantation embryo antigenicity
  • Decidual NK immunology
  • Placental immunopathology
  • Trophoblast immune signaling
  • Maternal immunoregulation
  • Maternal immune factors
  • Autoimmunities and pregnancy
  • Anti-phospholipid syndrome
  • Testicular and ovarian autoimmunities

Guidelines

  • Abstracts must be submitted and presented in clear English. Please ensure that your abstract does not contain spelling, grammar or scientific mistakes, as it will be reproduced exactly as submitted. No proofreading will be done. Linguistic accuracy is the responsibility of the submitter.
  • The deadline for abstract submission is June 5, 2017.
  • Abstracts can only be submitted online. Please fill in the form for Abstract Submission which is available on the congress website and upload your abstract.
  • Submission by fax, e-mail or post will not be accepted.
  • The text should not exceed 250 words. Tables and pictures (or figures) can be inserted. The text of the abstract should briefly state:

Background: Include a small introduction and indicate the purpose of the study or the hypothesis that was tested.
Material and Methods: Include the setting for the study, the subjects, the diagnosis or intervention, and the type of statistical analysis. If references are needed, they should be provided in the text.
Results: Present as clearly as possible the outcome of the study.
Conclusion: Briefly discuss the data and emphasise the significance of the results. All abstracts should disclose primary findings and avoid, whenever possible, promissory statements such as “experiments are in progress” or “results will be discussed”.

Authors: All author names should be included in the order they will appear in publication. The name of the presenting author must be underlined. Ensure that the correct spelling is confirmed for all contributing authors, no amendment will be permitted after the submission deadline.
Affiliations: Each affiliation should be specified. Affiliations will include the institution name and location (city, state or province, country).

  • Type of Presentation

Authors should select their presentation preference. Final decision on the presentation type will be made by the Scientific Committee.

  • Notification of Acceptance or Rejection

You will receive a confirmation email upon submitting your abstract. Please contact the Secretariat if you have not received this confirmation email.

Notification of acceptance or rejection of submitted abstracts will be sent to the corresponding author by June 26, 2017. Please note that only the corresponding author will receive the email concerning the abstract and is responsible for informing all co-authors of the status of the abstract. Authors whose abstracts have been accepted will receive instructions for the presentation of their abstract.

  • Accepted Abstracts

The Abstracts with the higher score during the peer-view process will be selected for Oral presentation. Instructions for Oral and Poster Presentations will be provided. All poster presenters are asked to be near to their poster during presentation-poster viewing.

  • ELSEVIER Young Investigator Awards

Each year ELSEVIER and the Journal of Reproductive Immunology sponsor the Young Investigator Awards

The Authors should indicate their intention to take part in the contest.
The abstracts will be evaluated by the award committee. The top 3 candidates will be invited to give an oral presentation at the Young Investigator award Session in Basic Science and in Clinical Research. There will be one winner for Basic Science and one for Clinical Research. The results will be announced during the congress. An award certificate and a prize of 500 Euros will be provided to the two winners.

Please note that submission of an abstract does not automatically register you for the conference.
